The SOUSAPHONICS formed in 2012, after a few beers in our favourite pub.
All the members, who are full time professional musicians, decided they were tired of performing the same old symphony with the Johannesburg Phillharmonic, the same old songs on tour with Josh Grobin, Mango Groove and Skouspel.
It was time to venture out on there own, and perform as a 5 piece OOM-PAH band.
2 Trumpets, 2 Trombones, 1 sousaphone / Vocalist
The Sousaphonics are now a regular fixture at Gillroys Brewery and other venues around Jo'burg and southern Africa, and are available to perform for any function, corporate or public, beer festival, birthday's, infact anywhere where people might be having a pint or 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Playing a mixture of true German OOM-PAH, the ol sing'alongs (delila, leaving Liverpool, Carpenters)
through to todays classics (Bruno MARS, Parlotones "push me to the floor" Pampoen, Kurt Darren),and many more.
Its all about having a great time listening to great music and having fun
